Day 1
Trail Data: Arrival Day | Welcome Briefing
Arrive at Girona Airport, Barcelona Airport, or the Figueres train station and transfer to the beautiful coastal village of Calella de Palafrugell. Check into your 3-star accommodation, soak in the views of the white-washed buildings, and enjoy a welcome meeting with your local representative to prepare for the week ahead.
Day 2
Trail Data: 11 km | Circular Coastal Walk
Head south along the coastline today into the protected Castell-Cap Roig National Park area, widely considered one of the last truly unspoiled corners of the Costa Brava. Discover secret, hidden coves like Cala Estreta before looping back through a magnificent Mediterranean forest teeming with pine, oak, olive trees, and native cacti.
Day 4
Trail Data: 21 km (or 11 km short option) | Inland Country Trails
Turn inland to discover Catalonia's rich history. Take a morning transfer to Peratallada, one of the best-preserved medieval villages in Spain, famous for its fortified center and cobbled streets. Walk through peaceful countryside to the hilltop village of Pals, which offers awesome views over the region, before making your way back to the coast. (Note: A shorter 11km option starting in Pals is available).
Day 5
Trail Data: 10 km | Coastal & National Park Trail
Transfer to Roses (Cala Montjoi) to begin your journey into the dramatic Cap de Creus National Park. Hike through this rugged southern section until you reach Cadaqués. Surrounded by mountains, this dazzling white-washed coastal town was a favorite retreat for Picasso and Salvador Dalí, who famously praised its magical "light and color".
Day 6
Trail Data: 16 km | Circular Coastal Walk
Walk to the easternmost point of mainland Spain today. Explore the spectacular, wind-sculpted rock formations of Cap de Creus—mythical shapes that deeply inspired Dalí's surrealist paintings. You also have the option to pre-book a visit to the fascinating Salvador Dalí House-Museum in nearby Port Lligat.
Day 7
Trail Data: 13 km | Mountain & Coastal Hike
Following a transfer to Llançà, embark on a breathtaking hike to the Sant Pere de Rodes Monastery. This impressive 9th-century monument was once a major pilgrimage center. Ascend further to the San Salvador de Verdera Castle (671m) for unparalleled views of where the Pyrenees meet the sea, before descending into Port de la Selva and transferring back to Cadaqués.

Is this walk different from the Camino de Ronda?
Yes. While it includes sections of the coastal Camino de Ronda, this itinerary is vastly more diverse. It acts as a "Best Of" compilation, providing strategic transfers that allow you to skip certain sections so you can hike inland to medieval villages, climb up to ancient mountain monasteries, and explore the rugged Cap de Creus peninsula
Can I visit Salvador Dalí's house on this tour?
Absolutely. On Day 6, your route from Cadaqués allows you to easily visit the Salvador Dalí House-Museum in Port Lligat. However, because visitor numbers are strictly limited, you must pre-book your entrance tickets well in advance.
Will I have to pack up and change hotels every single night?
No, and this is a major highlight of this specific itinerary! To provide a more relaxing experience, you will only stay in two locations: you unpack once in Calella de Palafrugell for the first few nights, and then unpack once more in Cadaqués for the remainder of the trip. We transfer you to the best trailheads each day.
What is the hiking terrain like?
This is a moderate-level walking tour. You will encounter a wide variety of terrain, including flat Mediterranean forest paths, sandy coastal tracks, cobbled medieval streets, and rocky, uneven ascents in the Cap de Creus National Park. Day 7 includes a significant mountain climb to the San Salvador de Verdera Castle (671m).
How do I get to the starting point in Calella de Palafrugell?
You can fly into either Barcelona Airport or Girona Airport, or take the train to the Figueres station. From there, you can utilize local public transport, or we can arrange a private arrival transfer directly to your first hotel.
When is the best time of year to hike Cap de Creus?
This tour operates from March 1st through November 30th. The absolute best times to hike are the low and mid-season months (March-May and September-October) to avoid the peak heat and high tourist crowds of July and August.
