Day 1
Arrive independently at your starting hotel in either the charming alpine town of Niederdorf (Villabassa) or Toblach (Dobbiaco). Settle in, breathe in the fresh mountain air, and prepare for your spectacular week of hiking through the Dolomites.
Day 2
Your hiking holiday begins at the idyllic Pragser Wildsee (Lake Prags). Surrounded by dark-needled coniferous forests and the towering white rock faces of the "Pearls of the Dolomites," you will hike up through the Rossalm alpine pasture. Reach the stunning high plateau of the Plätzwiese, which is overlooked by the majestic Dürrenstein and Hohe Gaisl mountains, offering distant views of the world-famous Drei Zinnen. Leisurely walkers can opt for a shorter, beautiful route starting from the Tuscherhof guesthouse, following the Stolla River past ancient water-eroded rock paintings.
Day 3
Starting from the Plätzwiese pasture, spend the day exploring the largest nature park in the Dolomites, celebrated for its unusual alpine flora and natural mountain lakes. You have the choice to ascend the Strudelkopf or tackle the longer hike up the Dürrenstein. Both highly rewarding options offer 360-degree spectacular views of the Hohe Gaisl, Drei Zinnen, Tofana, and Monte Cristallo peaks.
Day 4
Trek across the beautiful high plateau of the Plätzwiese before descending through the Knappenfußtal valley to Cimabanche, the scenic frontier between South Tyrol and Belluno. From here, you can take public transport directly into the glamorous resort town of Cortina d’Ampezzo, or choose the longer hiking variant to Ospitale and Passo Tre Croci, soaking in the dramatic mountain vistas along the way.
Day 5
Today is dedicated to the giant rocks of the Ampezzo Dolomites. Use your included cable car ticket to ascend Faloria and choose between hiking towards Forcella Faloria or following the breathtaking Dolomieu Panoramic Trail towards Passo Tre Croci. Alternatively, skip the cable car and embark on a fascinating circular walk around
Day 6
Take the morning public bus to the Three Peaks viewpoint (ticket not included). Hike across the Rienzböden and up to the awe-inspiring Three Peaks, the ultimate UNESCO World Heritage landmark of the region. Continue to the famous Dreizinnenhütte, hiking below the Paternkofel—a site of fierce First World War battles where legendary mountain guide Sepp Innerkofler lost his life—before descending into the lush Fischleintal valley. Catch the bus back to Toblach to celebrate your final evening
Day 7
Your unforgettable Italian Alps walking holiday concludes after a hearty breakfast. Depart from Toblach or Niederdorf with incredible memories of the King of the Alps.
6 nights of restful accommodation in hand-picked, authentic 3-star (and some 4-star category) alpine hotels.
